The School has been established in 1976 by Christine Soumi aiming at the cultivation of love for the Arts and, especially for Dance, the development of corporeal abilities and the expression through movement, for both adults and children and, finally, the promotion and support of the students who are able to study Dance on a professional level.

The education of the students had been taking place by the use of  kinetics’  principles,  the joy of imagination in improvisation, the cultivation of spiritual and corporeal abilities in order for them to be able to participate actively  and with profound interest in any form of artistic expression. Dance education aims at building a solid base wih discipline, respect, kindness, knowledge, patience and self - discipline for the attainment of high goals as well as having self - confidence, acquaintance with the body and its improvement, seeking and promotion of talent and above all else,  better self - knowldge.

In 1978 the School has adopted  the institution of Scholarship

The female students along with a male student that sat for the entrance exams for Professional Dance Schools had a 100% success!

In June 2019, Christine Soumi has passed the torch of the School’s  management to her daughter Ileanna  Balla who named the School anew to "Dance Drops"

Having the firm belief that we all receive messages since our early age as embryos,  she has realized the importance of the stimuli received by an embryo  and the decisive role of  pregnancy, not only for  the embryos, but also for the relationship between a mother and a child.

As a result she decided to include Pranatal Yoga Classes and ain  the School’s Programme.

Through her relationship with the Theater she has comprehended very well the importance for children to learn how to act as a group as well as the importance of  being able to express themselves, their thoughts and emotions through a creative process. This way we included theatrical play in the Programme.

For Children  beginning with Elementary School we decided to include more lively  Classes of kinisis (movement) like Breakdance, Hip Hop and Bungee Dance in order not to adopt a sitting way of life.

For Adults new Classes include  the following:

  • Bungee Dance: A very fun way to exercise your body by dancing on the air.
  • Aerial Yoga: It includes both acrobatic movements, by decompressing joints and releasing tensions from the spinal cord.
  • Musical: A Class that travels you on the dance stage of 40's - 60's.
  • Dance Therapy: A therapeutical technique that aids at coming in contact with our inner- self.
  • Pilates: A Class that balances and empowers the body.

Finally, it is our cordial wish for everyone entering our space  to relax and select to do something for oneself that will be a deep breath during one's daily routine.
