Maria Kassidokosta was born and raised in Piraeus. She began with swimming but was quickly attracted by dance in which she has been involved since childhood. She is a graduate of the State School of Dance and a graduate of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the Athens School of Philosophy.
She has attended seminars in Greece and abroad with Guy Shomroni, Eldad Ben Sasson, Lotem Regev, Mayaan Sheinfeld, Gil Kerer, Julyen Hamilton, Maya Carrol, Chisato Ohno, Sofia Mavragani, Ioannis Mantafounis, Linda Kapetanea, Evripides Laskaridis, Stella Fotiadis as well as seminars of other physical practices such as Tai-chi and yoga. She has attended an educational seminar on music-motor and psycho-motor education for preschool children. In 2019 she attended the intensive program for professional dancers of the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel. She has participated in the International exchange program for young dancers in Athens and Berlin with the Luna Park group.
She has danced in productions of the Hellenic Dance Company with choreographer Tono Lachky at the Athens Concert Hall, with choreographer Christos Papadopoulos "Exercise 27" Athens and Epidaurus festival, with choreographer Apostolia Papadamaki "The oracles of water" at the Oracle of Delphi, as well as in children's dance theater performances.
Since 2018 she has been teaching classical and contemporary dance in amateur dance schools in children's and adult classes. In 2021-2022 she volunteered contemporary dance lessons at the non-profit organization MANA for women facing gynecological cancer. In 2023 she became a diploma holder of the Pilates method. Her research focuses on dance pedagogy and dance therapy, envisioning a dance reality that is more widespread, accessible and inclusive.
